Staff Training

By David M. Matson

This past week we all huddled up again for routine office training. We closed the office down on Wednesday afternoon and worked as a team to review a couple of our office policies and procedures. On the agenda were the following:

  • HIPAA and patient privacy review and update
  • Infection control
  • Dental office emergencies

We generally set time aside twice a year to review the above and make sure that newer staff is up to date and that all of us are on the same page.

As you all know, privacy issues are a huge concern in the digital age and how we treat your our patient’s information is a major focus of our practice management. We utilize resources from the American Dental Association to help us in the design and maintenance of our office policy.

Infection control has been a focus from the day we hung out our shingle. Techniques are constantly reviewed and updated as they pertain to staff and patient safety. You can get a better idea of our office policies with regard to infection control by visiting the page on our web site here under ‘patient info.’

Finally, office emergencies are something we practice and prepare for on a regular basis. We place a great deal of emphasis on doing our best to be prepared. Lisa T spends a great deal of time each week in monitoring our preparedness and making sure that we are doing all that we can.

If you ever have any questions about any of the above we would be happy to show you all that we do.
