Bonding

Bonding is an ever-evolving technique that has been around for over 40 years. It is a process whereby we chemically bond a tooth-colored plastic-like material to your existing tooth.

We can use this material to change a tooth’s shape or color, as well as to repair cavities or fractured teeth. This material can be veneered to teeth to change their color and shape. In many cases, we can lengthen a tooth for a more aesthetic appearance. In addition, we can easily close unsightly spaces between teeth as a simple alternative to orthodontics or more expensive procedures.

The materials that are available today are much better than they were just 5 years ago making the bonding techniques a very reliable option in the right situation. Another benefit is it’s accuracy in shade matching of the patient’s existing teeth, as we can build different shades into one restoration. This gives the tooth a much more natural look.
